HYFAB Business Development Manager

Primary Functions: Focus on growing and improving HYFAB through management of the sales cycle of HYFAB packages for JMP and other manufacturers’ representatives’ sales staff.  This begins with opportunity, includes order and delivery, and concludes with warranty when required.  Work with customers and HYFAB staff to develop opportunities by providing specifications, schedules and drawings for HYFAB packages.  Participate in product development for HYFAB packages based on market opportunities and customer (sales) requests and feedback. Manage continual improvement of sales process for HYFAB packages.    

Typical Duties:

  1. Screen and organize information in quote requests to assist in preparation of quotes.
  2. Work with design team, and sales support staff, to provide quotes at appropriate market levels for customers.
  3. Manage the sales process for HYFAB customers
  4. Identify industry trends that can be translated into HYFAB opportunities
  5. Envision and help develop HYFAB standard/configurable products.
  6. Envision and help create HYFAB product specifications, schedules and drawings for standard products and for viable custom opportunities.
  7. Maintain physical and electronic files in an orderly fashion so they can be used by all HYFAB employees.

Requirements:

  3. Technical degree or equivalent experience 
  4. Strong computer skills including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
  5. Ability to produce accurate and thorough documents.
  6. Respect for company property and equipment.
  7. Valid NC driver’s license.

 Desired Attributes:

  1. Five years minimum mechanical/HVAC sales experience
  2. Strong hydronic system knowledge
  3. Familiarity with CAD software, preferably 3D (Inventor or SolidWorks) and ERP business system knowledge

 Working Conditions:

Office environment with visits to customers as dictated by opportunity and relationship requirements.    

Working Hours

Normal office work schedule is 8 hours per day, typically Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.  Working hours for travel assignments may vary.  Working hours may be flexible as scheduling allows.

Pay

Position is salaried with bonuses based on HYFAB profitability.  Salary is commensurate with performance and experience.

Welder/Pipefitter

Reports to: Shop Supervisor

Primary Purpose: Working from drawings and sketches to fabricate, and assemble, piping, fixtures, and equipment for steam, domestic hot water, heating water, cooling water, and industrial processing systems.  Production of work that looks good and performs intended function without leaks or other flaws.

Primary Duty:

  1. Selecting type and size of pipe and related materials per job drawings or sketches and specifications.
  2. Cutting, fitting and TIG and/or MIG welding carbon steel and stainless steel piping.

Other Duties

  1. Cutting pipe and structural material, using various saws, pipe cutter or cutting torch.
  2. Threading and cutting pipe, using threading machine.
  3. Fitting and assembling variety of metal and nonmetal pipe and fittings, including but not limited to those made of steel, stainless steel, copper, and plastic.
  4. Making leak free piping joints by means of inert gas or flux submerged welding, threading, soldering, or brazing.
  5. Fabricating steel structures and holding fixtures to support piping and equipment.
  6. Installing equipment including, pumps, boilers, valves, meters, controls, and piping.  Using forklift and overhead crane to move heavy equipment.
  7. Hydrostatically testing piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.
  8. Cleaning work area and putting away tools and equipment as required to maintain safe and pleasant environment.

Requirements:

  1. Positive attitude.

  3. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
  4. Maintenance of a safe work area.
  5. High School Diploma or GED.
  6. Valid NC drivers license.
  7. Forklift safety training certificate.
  8. Knowledge of current trade methods, materials and equipment.
  9. Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
  10. Ability to visualize objects in three-dimensions from plans and drawings.
  11. Ability to:
    1. Work easily and skillfully with hands.
    2. Lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
    3. See well (either naturally or with correction.)
    4. Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds; and stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
    5. May be required to be ASME section IX and/or AWS certified in welding.
  12. Respect for company property and equipment.
  13. Ability to follow orders from Shop Supervisor.

Working Conditions:

Shop environment:  Regularly exposed to mechanical and electrical hazards and hazards associated with power and hand tools.  Regularly subjected to dust, fumes, grinding debris, and high temperatures.  Shop is heated in wintertime but is not air conditioned.

Working Hours

Normal work schedule is Monday – Thursday 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. with 15 minute breaks at 10:00 and 3:00 and one half hour for lunch from 12:00 until 12:30.

Overtime and/or weekend work may be required if workload exceeds normal shop capacity, or if customer requires work outside normal hours.

Pay

Position is paid hourly with 1.5 x hourly rate for overtime.  Pay is commensurate with performance.
